Who Am I?
My name is Shelley Bertram. I am Licensed as a Life Insurance Agent. I began my life insurance career in May 2001, and was introduced to Mr. William Tansey of Tansey Insurance Services Inc. in B.C. Mr. Tansey originated a very unique no medical type insurance plan for those that are hard to insure, with the option to issue up to age 90. I am privileged to remain part of Mr. Tansey's team of independently contracted agents still offering the NWLegacy plans. I have also added the nationwide Canada Protection Plan products to my portfolio that are also no-medical type insurance plans.In February 2004, I started my own insurance company, Bertram Insurance & Financial Services and became an Independent Broker. I am currently contracted with major brokers, including Financial Horizons Inc. and HUB Financial Inc. [the largest broker in Canada], giving me access to practically every major insurer in Canada.In June 2006.  I continue to educate myself by attending workshops & financial summits and by taking extra courses in financial planning, retirement planning, taxation and investing.   Bertram Insurance & Financial Services strives to grow and change to reflect changing lifestyles and the continually changing world economics.

Companies I Represent
I am authorized to represent and have contracts with many insurance companies.   In the past 12 months I have most frequently used: Unity Life, RBC, Empire, Manulife, Equitable, and Industrial Alliance Pacific . If none of these companies offer products suitable to your specific needs I will compare several other companies to find a product that is suitable for you.

No insurance company holds an ownership interest in my business, nor do I hold an ownership interest in any insurance company.

Conflict of Interest
It is my duty to disclose any conflict of interest with respect to my overall recommendations, to you, as my client. As an Independent Broker I am bound by the laws governing life insurance agents in Ontario and the Code of Ethics of my professional association, Independent Financial Brokers of Canada. This means that any insurance/financial products I recommend will be what I deem best suited to meet your needs without regard to compensation practices of any one company.
